"Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured
And endure what cannot be cured"

BKS Iyengar

Yoga  for Special Populations
Over the past 6000 years or so, Yoga has been practiced in the East and more recently in the populations of the West. The benefits are numerous and are well documented by both Eastern and Western research.  Our Modules and Workshops will strive to bring a union to the classical yoga of masters such as Iyengar and Krishnamacharya and the more modern variations developed by the lineage of students who have followed and practiced as they walk their Dharma.
As the discipline of Yoga Therapy continues to grow, Yoga Therapy becomes more firmly established as a complementary alternative practice for clients who belong to special populations already under the care of a doctor.  With the combined effort of  Western Medicine and Ancient Yogic Wisdom, the client recieves the highest level of care possible.

Pilates, a relatively new modality, is now included in many physical therapy programs as a means of improving and maintaining postural alignment and balance. It is not unusual to see the Pilates Reformers, Trapeze Table and Chair inside the physical therapist's office.  Using this discipline as part of a therapeutic class ensures an additional benefit for the health and wellbeing of the client.  Many of the modifications offered in the Therapeutic Benefit of Yoga Modules include key Pilates aspects; such as core strengthening and postural alignment.

Joseph Pilates is quoted as saying "In 10 sessions you will feel a difference.  In 20 sessions you will see the difference. And in 30 sessions, you will have a whole new body."
